Twitter reacts to Ryan Day’s statement pushing for answers from the Big Ten

Twitter reaction was swift on both sides of the debate in response to Ohio State head coach Ryan Day’s statement about Big Ten football.

After standing back for a little while to see where things are headed with the Big Ten’s potential reversal of course to delay the football season, Ryan Day spoke out today with a statement. The reaction was swift and hateful from many corners of the college football world.

However, there were some positive reactions too. We get it. It’s a polarizing topic. Some believe that the Big Ten was right in their decision to shelve things in the interest of health and safety for the student-athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there are others that believe the players should be able to play, especially since there are three out of five power conferences still forging ahead.

Many also believe (and rightfully so), the Big Ten has not been transparent or reactive with communication after so much criticism and questions regarding how it arrived at a decision, and what basis it did so.

But back to the reactions from Day’s statement today. We’ve pulled together some of the best Tweets (good and bad) after his statement was released by the university today. We’ve organized them as ones that support the statement vs. others that were critical.

We’re not judging, we’re simply laying out what has been seen. First, we’ll start with the negative because we like to end on a good note.
