Twitter reacts: former 5-star OT Amarius Mims enters transfer portal

Former 5-star recruit and Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims is instantly one of the best available transfers in the country.

Former five-star recruit and Georgia Bulldogs offensive tackle Amarius Mims has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Mims is instantly one of the best, if not the best, available transfers in the country.

Amarius Mims is from Bleckley County in Cochran, Georgia. The 6-foot-7, 330-pound sophomore was projected to be Georgia’s top back up offensive tackle behind left tackle Broderick Jones and right tackle Warren McClendon.

Mims joins former five-star center recruit Clay Webb in the portal. Georgia has lost depth along the offensive front since Stacy Searles took over for Matt Luke as offensive line coach.

Mims played in eight games for the Bulldogs during his freshman season in 2021 and is looking to start at his transfer destination.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Mims’ transfer:

FSU and Miami are considered two of the top potential transfer destinations for Amarius Mims:

Kirby Smart got Broderick Jones to wait for two years before being a hero and doing a stellar job blocking the nation’s sack leader, Will Anderson, in the national championship game.
