Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out for the season after suffering a hip injury versus Mississippi State. Tua has been playing shortly after undergoing surgery for an ankle sprain.
Here;s what college football Twitter had to say after Tua’s unfortunate injury:
Prayers out to @Tuaamann and your family. Keep your head up. You're still my hero! @AlabamaFTBL

Man, this is crazy. Nick Saban was going to take Tua Tagovailoa out before this possession. Tua talked him into letting him get one more drive, and now he's being attended to by Alabama training staff after getting hurt. Very unfortunate.

“Godspeed to him and his entire family,” Nick Saban said about #TuaTagovailoa after Alabama's 38-7 win at Mississippi State.
Those are words you hate to hear from a coach of so much experience, columnist @JoeGoodmanJr writes.

Hearing Tua Tagovailoa’s hip injury is serious. Hip fracture. Similar to Bo Jackson’s career-ending injury. Surgery tonight or tomorrow morning. Praying for Tua and his family. 🙏

Thank you @Tuaamann
No matter if you never play at Alabama again, we can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done for Alabama not only as a person but also as a leader and a role model
God Bless 🙏🏻, We love you Tua 😢pic.twitter.com/BntKdknNH2

Horrible news for this great player and terrific young man, and awful news for football. All the best to Tua Tagovailoa for a full recovery. https://t.co/D3TbXJFDSe

Food for thought: with the unfortunate injury to Tua Tagovailoa, the big question that comes to mind is should Chase Young come back? Keep in mind he’s already going to be the #1 Draft pick or at least top 3, so what incentive does he have to return and risk injury for nothing…

We wish Tua a quick recovery and hope he can continue to succeed pursuit of his NFL dreams. Tua made his mark in his first career big-time game against Georgia in the National Championship two seasons ago. He’s been outstanding ever since then and has battle through his fair share of injuries and adversity.
