Tre Jones discusses opponents’ gameplan when facing Victor Wembanyama: ‘Very aggressive with him’

San Antonio Spurs guard Tre Jones recently spoke about the gameplan opponents have been using against Victor Wembanyama.

Through the early portion of the season, the San Antonio Spurs have played well, but in their last two games, they’ve suffered two blowout losses. On Wednesday night, they fell to the New York Knicks, and for the second-straight game, Victor Wembanyama got slowed down. Mitchell Robinson got the best of him.

In 5:00 when guarded by Robinson, Wembanyama shot 0-of-6 from the field and turned the ball over once. And in the previous game, Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin found success guarding Wembanyama. Toppin said that the key to guarding him was physicality, something Robinson also utilizes very well on a night-to-night basis.

Tre Jones recently spoke about this gameplan against Wembanyama, noting that as the rookie continues to develop, he’ll get used to it. (H/t Andrew Lopez of ESPN)
