Travis Kelce speculates about how Chiefs will put newly freed cap space to use

Travis Kelce speculated on the New Heights Show about how the #Chiefs will put the cap space created by his contract restructure to use. Spoilers: He wants Odell Beckham Jr.

How will the Kansas City Chiefs spend the $3.455 million in cap space they created by restructuring Travis Kelce’s contract? That’s the big question that everyone wants the answer to, isn’t it?

Jason Kelce tried to get the Chiefs’ tight end to provide some insider information on the latest episode of the New Heights Show.

“I’m not sure yet,” Travis said. “It’s a start to a move, right? You’re freeing up cap space to do something, right? Unless they’re just kindly, kindly giving me the money upfront, which I genuinely appreciate either way.”

Jason asked Travis specifically about free agent WR Odell Beckham Jr., who seems to be making the rounds as an option for Kansas City after we shared our jersey swap on Tuesday.

Jason wanted to know if there was any truth behind the rumors of the Chiefs’ interest in the free agent wide receiver.

“Odell Beckham Jr? I want them to come true,” Travis said. “I have not heard anything in the locker room or anything around the facility, but I think that something is in the air, for sure. And if it means (Odell Beckham Jr), alright.”

At the very least, it feels like Travis is expecting some sort of move to happen, which should be refreshing news for Chiefs fans. At this point, it’s just a matter of what that move is and when it happens.
