Travis Kelce and his mustache are OK with Aaron Rodgers calling him “Mr. Pfizer.” The Kanas City Chiefs tight end aims to shake it off — Taylor Swift pun intended — and keep moving forward.
On Tuesday, while doing his weekly touch base with Pat McAfee, Rogers was asked to give his thoughts on the Chiefs’ win over his New York Jets. He was mid-explanation when he inexplicably called Kelce “Mr. Pfizer.”
The dig, a reference to the tight end’s recent commercial with the pharmaceutical company, made its way back to Kelce.
When asked about his thoughts on the nickname, Kelce laughed it off before answering.

Kelce said:
“I thought it was pretty good. With the ‘stache right now, I look like a guy named Mr. Pfizer. Who knew I’d get into the vax wars with Aaron Rodgers, man? It’s Mr. Pfizer versus the Johnson & Johnson family over there. …
“I got [the COVID vaccine] because of keeping myself safe, keeping my family safe, keeping the people in this building [safe]. So yeah, I stand by it. 1,000 percent. Fully comfortable with him calling me Mr. Pfizer.”
The irony in Rodgers’ quip is that his known anti-COVID-19 vaccine stance clashes with the man who pays his checks, Jets owner Woody Johnson, who also owns the pharmaceutical company and fellow vaccine manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson.
Ultimately, Kelce says he’s “fully comfortable” with the nickname and stands by his decision.
