Travis Kelce described how surprised he was to get Taylor Swift’s attention with his friendship bracelet remark

For the participating teams, the Super Bowl brings more media obligations than any player could possibly be used to. That also means that Travis Kelce has found himself answering numerous — and I mean, numerous — questions about his relationship with Taylor Swift.

The Chiefs tight end, though, has seemingly enjoyed speaking about his budding relationship with the 14-time Grammy winner. He’s even offered some new details in the process.

On Wednesday, Kelce once again spoke with the media where he was asked to revisit the friendship bracelet story that kicked off the courtship. Over the summer, Kelce said on the New Heights podcast that he made a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it to give to Swift at the Eras Tour. He was disappointed that the bracelet never made his way to Swift. But word of his disappointment certainly did as Swift thought it was “metal” and reached out.

In response to a question about that, Kelce admitted that he never expected the friendship bracelet remarks to land — but he’s happy it did. He said:

“Never thought it would have landed. I didn’t even think it would have landed or I would have gotten a response from her. … We’re here and we’re all happy. I know that.”
