Travis Hunter lands first-team preseason AP All-American spot

For the first time in four years, Colorado has a preseason AP All-American rep

For the first time since Laviska Shenault Jr. made second-team offense in 2019, a CU Buff has earned a preseason AP All-American nod. This time, it’s two-way phenom Travis Hunter, who on Monday was named a first-team all-purpose player.

Hunter is expected to play both wide receiver and cornerback in his first season at Colorado after following head coach Deion Sanders and others from Jackson State to Boulder. Last season, Hunter played in eight games as a true freshman, recording 10 pass breakups and two interceptions on defense while hauling in 188 receiving yards and four touchdowns at receiver.

Nate Solder remains the last Buff to earn AP All-American (postseason) honors, landing first-team offensive line in 2010.

The Pac-12 had four other first-team reps: USC quarterback Caleb Williams, Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze, Stanford kicker Joshua Karty and Washington edge rusher Bralen Trice.
