Top Michigan football target in Ohio, 2024 CB Aaron Scott, sets commitment date

The #Michigan – Ohio State battle this offseason will be decided soon.

Michigan football lost out on one of its top Ohio-based cornerback targets in four-star Bryce West, as the Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville product chose to stay home and attend Ohio State. The Wolverines are at least hoping that the other top target doesn’t make the same choice.

Hailing from Springfield (Ohio), Aaron Scott has arguably been Michigan’s bigger priority at the position. A four-star who’s being sold on early playing time and has been building a bond with running back commit Jordan Marshall and safety commit Jacob Oden, it’s long been rumored that it’s at least 50-50 between the Wolverines and Buckeyes — though Oregon, his childhood favorite, is also under consideration.

Per On3’s Chad Simmons, Scott will be making his decision in just over a month, on July 30 — his father’s birthday.

Now, it should be noted that his father is reportedly a die-hard Ohio State fan. That could mean that the date signifies bad news for the maize and blue, but Michigan does as much as it can with its commits as well as defensive pass game coordinator Steve Clinkscale putting on the full-court press.

Penn State and Tennessee were also involved, but both are considered out as of now.
