His lone victory over the Sooners in the Red River Rivalry was a thrilling one. Those types of victories have been few and far between against the top competition in the Big 12. His conference record is a meager 22-14, he is winning more than losing but it leaves a lot to be desired.
However, maybe it is time for us to see Tom Herman for what he is. He is an average to good coach, but he gets paid like an elite one. Herman is the third-highest paid head coach in the conference and not far behind Lincoln Riley and Gary Patterson. Breaking down his salary per win through the regular season, that equates to roughly $966,000 per victory.
