Top 10 returning offensive tackles in college football per PFF

Sophomore Kelvin Banks is among the best offensive tackles in college football this season. Should he be ranked higher on this list?

One of the bright spots of the 2022 college football season for Texas was the dominant play of freshman left tackle Kelvin Banks.

The former five-star recruit certainly lived up to his rating throughout the season. He shut down several of the nation’s top pass rushers, including Alabama’s Will McDonald, Texas Tech’s Tyree Wilson, Iowa State’s Will McDonald and Kansas State’s Felix Anudike-Uzomah. Each of those defensive stars were selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft a few weeks ago.

Banks enters his sophomore season as the top overall player on Texas’ roster regardless of position. Many believe he could receive All-American honors in 2023 if he’s able to stay healthy and continue playing at a high level.

Max Chadwick of PFF recently ranked the Top-10 returning offensive tackles in the country. Banks landed at No. 7, which we feel is a bit high, but Chadwick stated it’s due to his needed development as a run-blocker.

Here’s a look at PFF’s top 10 returning offensive tackles and why Chadwick feels they’re deserving of the landing spot given.
