Tony Barnhart asks the important question: Will Bo Nix improve under new staff?

Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is looking to improve upon a mediocre sophomore season with new coaches Bryan Harsin and Mike Bobo in charge.

There is no question that Bo Nix regressed as a sophomore in 2020 at the quarterback position. Although part of that is due to an offensive line that gave him absolutely no time in the pocket, Nix still suffered from accuracy issues along with focusing on his first read.

With new head coach Bryan Harsin and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo in charge on the Plains now, every Auburn fan is wondering if Nix will start to thrive under the new mentorship. Mr. College Football Tony Barnhart is certain he will due to the advice of a former quarterback under Bobo.

Auburn’s Bo Nix is going to be a more consistent and productive quarterback with Mike Bobo as his coach this season.

Says who? Says Shockley, who played for Bobo at Georgia (2001-2005).

“Coach Bobo takes a quarterback and coaches him from the ground up,” said Shockley. “He’ll start with the footwork and work all the way up to his arm and on to his decision making. Bo has talent but he needs this kind of coaching. I think he’ll have his best year.”

That is positive news for the Tigers as Nix enters his junior season.
