Tom Brady Sr. had an epic reaction to seeing the Patriots-Buccaneers matchup

Goodness! The trash has already begun.

Tom Brady is generally measured and careful in how he speaks to the media. Tom Brady Sr. is not.

And it’s awesome.

Because while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has yet to address the fact that he’s playing against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots in Week 4 during the 2021 season, Brady Sr. went out of his way to call into Boston sports radio to talk some trash.

“I started salivating when I saw that we’re playing the Patriots in the fourth game of the season, and we’re coming up here to make our record 4-0,” Brady Sr. told the “Zolak and Bertrand” show on 98.5 The Sports Hub on Thursday. “The Patriots are our second favorite team. It’s a game where we get to root against nobody. We get to root for the Patriots, but our most favorite team, of course, is the Buccaneers, so we expect to beat the Patriots rather handily, frankly.”

I. Am. Hyped.

Tom Brady Sr.? Also HYPED.

The fanbases in New England and Tampa? If ticket prices are any indication, those fans are HYPPPPPPEDDDDD.

Brady and Belichick, the greatest of all time at their respective positions, will square off for the first time after working together for 20 years. In their only year apart, Brady won a Super Bowl and Belichick logged his first losing season since his first year as a coach in New England in 2000.

It may be their only matchup against one another. If Brady logs a win, he will have beaten every NFL team at least once. And if Brady averages 288.5 passing yards per game through Week 4, he will also move into first place on the all-time passing list.

Legacies are on the line. The matchup should be absolutely wild.
