Tom Brady offers hilarious, respectful take on Eli Manning’s retirement

Tom Brady congratulated New York Giants QB Eli Manning on his retirement in a way that only Brady could.

Over a four-year span, it seemed that the New England Patriots dynasty, led by Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, had a kryptonite — the New York Giants.

Those Giants were, of course, led by Eli Manning.

It’s been a few short days since we found out that Manning was calling it a career. Since then, players from around the league have shared their reactions to the Giants’ great hanging it up.

Right as Manning’s press conference was about to start, Tom Brady, the player Manning took down twice in the Super Bowl, shared his thoughts and congratulations to Eli via Twitter in a way that only the humorous Brady could.

“Congratulations on your retirement, and a great career, Eli! Not going to lie though, I wish you hadn’t won any Super Bowls,” Brady cracked.

Brady, of course, is still playfully bitter that he missed out on two Super Bowls at the expense of Manning and the Giants.

That’s pretty high praise from the quarterback who most may consider as the greatest quarterback in NFL history when all is said and done. It’s been quite a career for Manning which most will remembered for his two Super Bowl wins against Brady.
