Titans signing ILB Avery Williamson off Broncos’ practice squad

The Titans are reuniting with a familiar face in ILB Avery Williamson.

According to multiple reports, the Tennessee Titans are signing inside linebacker Avery Williamson off of the Denver Broncos’ practice squad.

If Williamson sounds like a familiar name, it’s because he is. The Kentucky product was a fifth-round pick of the Titans back in 2014 and spent the first four seasons of his career with the team, appearing in 63 games (59 starts).

After his first stint in Nashville, Williamson joined the New York Jets, where he spent three years, one of which saw him miss the season due to a torn ACL suffered in training camp.

In 2020, Williamson played in seven games for Gang Green before being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he finished out the season.

The 29-year-old was signed to the Broncos’ practice squad earlier this month but has yet to play in a game. He adds some much-needed experience to Tennessee’s linebacker corps. after Jayon Brown was placed on IR.
