Titans CB L’Jarius Sneed: There’s nothing wrong with my knee

Despite reported concerns about his knee, Titans CB L’Jarius Sneed says it is not an issue.

In the process of the Kansas City Chiefs trying to lock down a trade for star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who was ultimately scooped up by the Tennessee Titans, reports suggested there were some concerns about his knee.

“There is a knee issue with Sneed,” Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline said on 104.5 The Zone’s “Blaine and Mickey” show. “It will come down to exams and whether teams are comfortable with the knee. I was told it is serious but he did play through it. He wasn’t able to practice.”

Despite the knee issue, Sneed managed to play in all but one game last season, and that one game came in Week 18 when the Chiefs rested their starters.

During his introductory press conference on Tuesday, Sneed addressed the concern over his knee.

“Ain’t nothing wrong with my knee,” Sneed said, according to ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “I’m fine. I played a whole season, and years before that, I played as well. I had a couple problems and had a banged up knee before, but I’m good right now. Nothing is really wrong with my knee.”

When asked if his knee is something he has to manage moving forward, Sneed, who passed a physical recently, said that is not the case.

“No,” he replied. “I know what I have to do with my knee. I’m coming out here to play ball.”

Prior to the 2023 campaign, Sneed appeared in 15 games in 2021 and then all 17 games in 2022. Adding to that, he’s become one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, so clearly the knee hasn’t been an issue for his play on the field.

I’m sure if it was that big of a concern, the Titans wouldn’t have pulled the trigger on both a trade and extension for the 27-year-old.
