Tigers of the Game: Give Dylan Cardwell his crown

Senior center Dylan Cardwell reached double-figures for the second straight game in Auburn’s win over Ole Miss. Can anyone slow him down?

“He is focused, he is having fun.”

That quote is the beginning of an inside joke that Auburn fans will always remember about former quarterback [autotag]Bo Nix[/autotag]. However, the same can be said for senior center [autotag]Dylan Cardwell[/autotag].

Cardwell was instrumental in No. 11 Auburn’s 82-59 win over No. 21 Ole Miss on Saturday night, which pushed its win streak to 11 games and gave them the title of SEC’s last unbeaten team through five conference games. Auburn’s bench contributed 40 of the team’s 82 total points, and Cardwell led the charge by scoring 12 points as the result of an 83.3% shooting effort. He also entertained the crowd with several impressive dunks including this one early in the second half.

Cardwell has now reached double figures in two straight games and has met the mark three times so far this season. Before this season, he had scored more than 10 points in just two games over the previous three seasons.

Auburn’s impressive victory over a top 25 team, and the team’s overall win streak, is due in part to the solid play of Cardwell and the Auburn bench. However, 12 Tigers scored at least two points in the win over Ole Miss, and also contributed in a handful of other ways.
