Season skid continues at the worst time
This was the biggest game of Oklahoma’s season to date coming in on a two-game losing streak with their ranking, projected NCAA Tournament seed, and place in the Big 12 standings all slipping. The Sooners needed to win this one to turn things around before they really got away from them.
This loss is obviously troubling as it is now a full-blown losing streak at three in a row. Regardless of all the obvious things that continue to be impacted in terms of standings and seed lines, the confidence of the team has to be shaken at this point.
The players have never wavered in speaking about their belief in their team and they won’t do that now, but any team in the country would be rattled dropping these games the way they have at this point of the season. All the close wins they picked up earlier in the season are going the other at the worst time imaginable.
The Sooners absolutely have to find a way to stop the bleeding on Thursday against Texas.
