Three takeaways from Oklahoma’s 69-65 loss against Texas in Norman

Three immediate takeaways from Oklahoma’s 69-65 loss to Texas on Thursday night in Norman.

Jericho Sims makes a big difference

In the first Oklahoma-Texas game back in January, Longhorns big man Jericho Sims was inactive due to COVID-19 protocols. Tonight he was active, and oh boy did he make a big difference.

He was dominant down low both putting the ball in the basket as well as crashing the boards. The Sooners largely had no answer for him throughout the evening. He nearly had a double-double in the first half with ten points and seven rebounds. He finished the night with 16 and 12 and was a massive part of Texas’ win.

You play with who is available on any given night so it’s not to take away from Oklahoma’s win in Austin earlier in the year, but just to provide some more context to it. He provided a very big difference in round two.
