Three reasons Ohio State beats Minnesota Thursday

The Minnesota offense took a big step back in 2020, but will they take a step forward in 2021?

The time is here! On Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. EDT on FOX, our beloved Ohio State Buckeyes will be kicking off the 2021 football season against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

This will be just the third time since 1975 that the Buckeyes will open the season on the road against a Big Ten opponent. Woody Hayes coached that team to a 21-0 win over Michigan State and if the spread is any indicator, Ryan Day will be looking to repeat history. Ohio State also beat Indiana in Bloomington by a score of 49-21 in 2017 to break the seal on the season.

Ohio State has not visited Minnesota since 2014 when it was able to squeeze out a close victory 31-24. With this being the season opener, there are a ton of questions, but we are going to highlight three big reasons the Buckeyes will beat the Golden Gophers in the Twin Cities in prime time.
