Three defensive key players for the Texas Longhorns on Saturday

For the Texas Longhorns to stay on track to challenge for a Big 12 Championship, they will need these defenders to guide them Saturday.

Last Saturday the world saw a performance for the ages. Jack linebacker Joseph Ossai put the defense on his back and carried them. He led the team in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks. He also forced one fumble and recovered another. He was a man among boys, but no play stood out more than when the game was on the line.

“I was on the phone with Joseph Ossai after the OU game and obviously we were both very upset,” Ehlinger stated. “The one thing that stood out to me, and the one reason why I knew he was going to make that play against Oklahoma State after the multitude of plays that he made. He said to me, ‘You know Sam? I’m really upset that we lost but I’m more upset because I know that in those moments your best players have to make plays.'”

According to Ehlinger he said, ‘I didn’t do that, I had a chance to end things against Oklahoma and I didn’t do that,’ “and so I knew standing out there on the field in Stillwater, that he was going to that and he did exactly that”

The Longhorns are going to need that same driven and hungry Ossai on Saturday. Especially in the run game against WVU’s Leddie Brown, who is the second best runner in the Big 12 Conference. He only trails Iowa State’s Breece Hall in yards per game.
