This Ohio State player picked as a Heisman sleeper for 2021

FOX College Football’s R.J. Young let everyone know who his ten Heisman sleepers are for 2021 and there’s an Ohio State player on the list.

OK. We get it. The 2020 Heisman Trophy was just awarded three weeks ago to Alabama’s DeVonta Smith, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t interest in who might take the award home next season. In fact, quite the opposite if you live in places like Columbus, Ohio, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The interest in college football is year-round in most football-crazed locations, and that means so too is the interest in the most coveted individual award in all of American sports (aside from my participation trophy in old-man football this year anyway).

There have already been lists of frontrunners for the award published at various media outlets, but many times, the Heisman is won by someone that comes off the radar and airlifts themself into the conversation with a breakout year.

It’s anyone’s guess who that might be in 2021 (who really saw DeVonta Smith winning this season), but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate.

And speculate is just what FOX College Football’s R.J. Young is doing with his list of top ten Heisman sleepers. And to keep you coming back for more, he’s got an Ohio State player as a part of the way-too-early and way-too-guessing type list. But nonetheless, Young believes Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Young apparently fits the bill, along with a nine others. He has the rising junior as the No. 8 player on the list.

Can you see it? I mean, if I were to put my scarlet and gray eggs in a basket that makes a little more sense, I think I’d have to go with Chris Olave over Wilson, but who really knows.

Either way, the Buckeyes have some talented wide-outs, and we should expect both Wilson to have one whale of a season in 2021 regardless of whether he finds his way into the Heisman conversation or not.
