On Saturday afternoon, former Wisconsin tackle Cole Van Lanen was drafted in the sixth round of the NFL draft with the 214th pick by his hometown Green Bay Packers. Van Lanen was drafted one pick later than his former teammate, cornerback Rachad Wildgoose, who went to the Buffalo Bills.

The Green Bay, Wisconsin, native started for two seasons for the Badgers in 2019 and 2020, while splitting snaps with Jon Dietzen at right tackle in 2018. Van Lanen was also named a second-team All-American by CBS Sports following the 2019 season.
