1. Ian Book (Notre Dame)
The most challenging quarterback matchup the Badgers will face in 2020 will come on October 3 when they meet Notre Dame and their senior signal caller Ian Book.
Book is 20-3 since taking over as the starter in South Bend in 2017 and is coming off a 2019 season during which he threw for 3034 yards, 60% completion, 8.6 AY/A, 34 touchdowns and six interceptions in addition to carrying the ball 112 times for 546 yards and four rushing touchdowns.
Many thought the California native would enter the 2020 NFL draft but his decision to return for his senior season now sets up a must-watch matchup with the Badgers and Fighting Irish face off at Lambeau field in week 5.
Book is currently a top-10 choice to win the Heisman Trophy s he leads a Notre Dame offense which saw several key contributors enter the NFL after last season.
He will have the prohibitive upper hand in his October 3 matchup against Coan, probably the only game on the Badgers’ schedule where that can be definitively said.
