Will 2020 finally be the year when the preseason Adrian Martinez and Nebraska hype comes to fruition? Who knows.

Regardless, Martinez is still one of the most talented quarterbacks on the Badgers’ schedule.

After an impressive freshman campaign which saw the California native throw for 2617 yards, 65% completion, 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions in addition to rushing the ball 140 times for 629 yards and eight rushing touchdowns, Martinez took a step back during his sophomore season and saw his numbers decline in every statistical area.

The talent is there for a breakout junior season from Martinez. But until his and Nebraska’s potential equals production Coan will hold the upper hand in their matchup.
