California high school baseball could have its own list. Fresno High School was so dominant back in the 1950s that in 1958, the team’s only defeat came against Fresno State’s freshman team—a college team! (Fresno also has the second-most wins ever in the nation.) But when you’re talking overall dominance, look no further than the El Segundo Eagles and coach John Stevenson. Check that: Winningest coach in California high school baseball history John Stevenson. The program has simply been the best. While Chatsworth and other teams can show a season here and there, no squad can challenge what Stevenson and the Eagles (like George Brett) accomplished. The team won seven Southern Section titles, and at one point, made the playoffs 42 out of 50 years.
