The Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team wasted no time in making a massive statement on opening night. After a Sweet 16 loss in last year’s NCAA Tournament, the Buffs faced the No. 1 LSU Tigers, who are fresh off a national title.
Well, the Buffs prevailed with ease on Monday evening at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, walking away with a 92-78 victory that sent social media into a frenzy.
Frida Formann led the way with 27 points, five rebounds and five assists and Aaronette Vonleh was right behind with a 24/6/4 stat line. Point guard Jaylyn Sherrod also posted 19 points and eight boards.
