Ohio State’s latest player off the board (and its last) for this year’s 2022 NFL draft is offensive tackle Thayer Munford, and it might be a steal. The Las Vegas Raiders made him official with the No. 238 overall pick in the seventh and last round.
Munford has started a ton of games for the Buckeyes and played at a high level. He is versatile, playing either on the right or left side in space on the line, and has a high football IQ. He is the consummate professional adept at both pass and run blocking.
Frankly, it’s a bit shocking that he fell this far down the draft, but as long as he finds his way onto the field for the Raiders, we like his chances of carving out a spot and having a productive career at the highest level.
Munford got where he was at Ohio State with hard work and a never-say-die mentality, and you can bet he’s ready to bring his lunch pale to work out in Sin City.
