Star wide receiver Xavier Worthy is approaching a pivotal year three at Texas.
Walter Camp has named the Texas wideout as a preseason second-team All-American entering the 2023 season.
Worthy broke onto the scene as a freshman in 2021 as he led the Longhorns with 981 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on his way to freshman All-American honors.
Worthy is looking for a bounce-back campaign after a bit of a down sophomore season. He dealt with some inconsistent quarterback play and drop issues, resulting in a production dip compared to 2021.
Texas has plenty of reason for optimism to expect a monster junior season from its top pass catcher.
Quinn Ewers is back and should be more comfortable in the starting role. Steve Sarkisian has praised the strides his quarterback is making this offseason thus far.
Added talent to the wide receiver room forces opposing defenses to leave Worthy coverage 1-on-1 more often.
