In what has likely been the craziest two weeks that the Texas football program has been through in a while, it always seems to get more bizarre.
Amid Texas’ four-game losing streak, monkey gate happened, another quarterback controversy developed, and heated encounters took place after practice that eventually led to a starting wide receiver entering the transfer portal.
Wide receiver Joshua Moore got into what was described as a heated exchange with head coach Steve Sarkisian after practice last Wednesday, which led to him not playing during the first quarter of the Iowa State game.
While many thought the situation was water under the bridge, it now seems to have been a breaking point. Sarkisian announced Monday that Moore was no longer with the team, and the plans were for him to enter the transfer portal.
This leaves Texas without its No. 2 and No. 3 receivers. Jordan Whittington suffered a clavicle injury in the Red River Rivalry that is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the season.
With that as a backdrop, a couple of highly touted wide receiver targets in the 2022 class posted cryptic tweets that appeared to show support for the Texas head coach and program.
It's pretty clear Sarkisian is telegraphing there are problems in the Texas locker room. Moore is out, quotes about "demeaning" vs. "demanding" and social media philosophy. Losing doesn't help.

Five-star Evan Stewart and four-star Jordan Hudson both tweeted the exact same cryptic message around that time, which led many to speculate the Longhorns are still very much in the mix for both.

On the outside looking in, this looks like it could be good news for Texas. The Longhorns badly need receiver help. Even with Moore on the roster, the group has struggled mightily all year.
Outside of star freshman Xavier Worthy, spots in the receiver rooms are very up for grabs. Getting one or both of these players would instantly boost this group from one of the weaker position groups on the team to one of the strongest.
