Junior wide receiver Joshua Moore’s status with the Texas football program is now in question.
According to Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods, Moore and head coach Steve Sarkisian got into a verbal argument after Wednesday’s practice. It’s unclear the severity of the matter or how Sarkisian will choose to handle the situation moving forward.
Texas is facing quite a bit of adversity right now after suffering three consecutive losses, and tensions are running high. Moore in particular had two crucial drops and one game-changing fumble in the loss to Baylor.
He is currently Texas’ third-leading receiver this season with 22 catches for 233 yards and three touchdowns. This is certainly a situation worth monitoring, as the Longhorns are already struggling with depth at receiver.

If Moore is not available for the Nov. 6 road matchup with Iowa State, backup Casey Cain is next in line on the depth chart. The true freshman has yet to catch a pass this season. Kelvontay Dixon, Al’Vonte Woodard, and Kai Money could see more action as well.
Moore entered the season as the team’s leading returning receiver, but true freshman Xavier Worthy has emerged as Texas’ top target as of late.
