Keithron Lee was a three-star wide receiver recruit that signed with Texas’ 2021 recruiting class.
Roughly a month after arriving on campus to join the team, Horns247 reported that Lee was arrested in Bryan, Texas over the weekend. Brazos County jail records show that he was arrested on assault of a family member charges on Sunday, June 20. Lee’s bond was set at $5,000.
As of Monday night, no other details were available.
Although Lee was linked to former head coach Tom Herman’s staff, first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian was excited to have the slot receiver sign with the Longhorns on National Signing Day.
“I think this guy’s got a real high football IQ. All of the gadget type plays — the jet sweeps, the bubbles — those things stand out, but when you really start digging into the tape on him, his ability to adjust on the football down the field is something that’s been very impressive to me,” Sarkisian said of Lee.
