Texas’ T’Vondre Sweat ranks in the top 10 for run defense per PFF

T’Vondre Sweat continues dominate the run game and is ranked highly by PFF

Texas defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat has been a menace all season long.

The fifth-year senior from Huntsville is making a name for himself and catching scout’s eyes as we inch closer to the 2024 NFL draft.

Before the season began, Sweat was named to the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list, as he set a career-high in tackles, quarterback hurries, and pass deflections last season.

So far in 2023, the Texas defensive lineman has 11 defensive stops on the run game.

Sweat also ranks No. 7 in the nation in run defense according to PFF with a 86.8 grade. He is arguably the best run defender for this Texas team and one of the most skilled in the Big 12 conference.

T’Vondre is expected to join the NFL after the season, but for now, his focus is on stopping the run game as Texas aims to defeat Houston in their first and final meeting as a member of the Big 12.
