Texas trending to land at least three five-star recruits in 2024 class

For the second straight year, Texas is in good position to land several five-star recruits.

For the second straight year, Texas should land at least three five-star recruits.

In 2023, the group of five-star signees featured Arch Manning, Anthony Hill, Cedric Baxter, and Johntay Cook. The class finished No. 3 in the nation according to 247Sports.

Although there’s still several months to go, the Longhorns are on pace to potentially add a handful of five-stars to its 2024 recruiting class. Throughout the month of June, several recruiting predictions have been entered that show Texas as the favorite in key recruitments.

The highest priority target of the 2024 cycle is five-star edge Colin Simmons. The Duncanville product is fresh off an official visit to Texas last weekend and many feel the Longhorns are now the team to beat in his recruitment.

Five-star cornerback Kobe Black and five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo are two others trending toward Texas over the last two weeks. Outside of that trio, five-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker remains a high priority for Kyle Flood.

Texas’ 2024 class may have started off slow, but Steve Sarkisian’s staff could make some noise and drastically climb in recruiting class rankings over the next month.
