The Longhorns continue to play at a high level, mashing 13 hits en route to taking down the No. 5 UCLA Bruins 7-2.

Texas broke the game open with a four-spot in the third inning. Mia Scott tripled home the first run, followed by an Alyssa Washington single and a Mary Iakopo home run to quickly put the Horns up 4-0. Iakopo’s bomb marked No. 50 in her collegiate career.

Centerfielder Bella Dayton added a two-run home run of her own in the fifth inning to expand Texas’ lead to 7-0.

Longhorns’ ace Hailey Dolcini put together another fantastic start. She kept Texas in control of the game with a complete-game performance, only allowing two late runs to the powerful UCLA offense.

Freshman infielder Mia Scott was not phased by the World Series environment. She went 4-4 with two RBIs while only seeing four pitches all game.

Texas will take on the winner of No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 9 Northwestern on Saturday.
