Texas takes down Kansas State, ends losing streak

The No. 13 Longhorns beat Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas, on Tuesday night.

The Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team beat the Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan 80-77 on Tuesday night. The team was able to bounce back after dropping four of their last five games, advancing to 12-5 on the season.

At halftime, the game was close with the Longhorns ahead by a slim margin of 43-39 led by Greg Brown’s 14 points.

As the second half kicked off, the Longhorns went on a 25-11 run with just over six minutes to play until Kansas State started to bring the game within one point.

With under 30 seconds to go, Kansas State continued to score and forced the Longhorns to the line to attempt free throws and protect the time on the clock. However, Kansas State was unable to get the last shot they needed and the Longhorns were able to escape Manhattan with the win.

The Longhorns will look to carry the momentum on Saturday against TCU.
