Texas re-offers four-star defensive end from California

Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns recently re-offered four-star defensive end Gracen Halton from the 2022 recruiting class.

Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns are picking up momentum for the 2022 recruiting cycle.

After landing five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy on Feb. 13, Texas is continuing to target the top prospects from the 2022 class. On Sunday, four-star defensive end Gracen Halton announced that he has been re-offered by the Longhorns.

Although Halton verbally committed to Oregon on Jan. 27, Texas could make up ground in the coming months with help from Sarkisian’s West Coast ties. The California native is a top-20 player in the country from the 2022 recruiting class and a top-12 player at his position according to 247Sports.

Halton has compiled an impressive list of offers from Power Five programs such as Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, USC, Washington, and Nebraska. The 6-3, 270-pound defensive end has the athleticism and versatility to play multiple positions on the defensive line.
