Texas RB/LB Jaden Hullaby enters the transfer portal

The Longhorns have now lost a total of 18 players to the transfer portal this year.

Another day, another reserve Longhorn deciding to take their talents elsewhere.

Jaden Hullaby, a former three-star recruit who played linebacker the majority of his time at Texas prior to switching to running back this offseason, announced via Twitter on Thursday that he intends to enter the transfer portal.

Hullaby now marks the 18th Texas player that has entered the portal and he also joins Myron Warren as the second transfer this week.

In two years as a Longhorn, Hullaby played in just one game and recorded one tackle. The move from linebacker to running back made sense to some as coming out of high school he projected as a better running back prospect, but unfortunately for him Texas is home to one of the deepest backfields in the country giving him little chance to see the field this season.

A school to possibly look out for could be Texas Tech, as his younger brother Landon is a linebacker that joined the Red Raiders as apart of their 2022 class.

It is still plausible to believe that Texas will seek out another linebacker in the portal to add more depth to the position group.
