Texas quarterback Hudson Card will start vs. Texas Tech

Steve Sarkisian told a reporter during pregame that Hudson Card will start at QB vs. Texas Tech.

When speaking to reporters during pregame, Steve Sarkisian mentioned that Hudson Card will get the start at quarterback vs. Texas Tech.

Many felt starting quarterback Quinn Ewers could potentially return from a shoulder sprain this week, but ultimately Texas fans will have to wait at least another week before his return.

According to Joe Cook of Inside Texas, Ewers is on the field during warmups throwing passes to receivers. That’s a positive sign that his return could be near.

Card is battling an ankle injury of his own and has performed fairly well over the last two weeks. He threw for 161 yards and one touchdown last week against UTSA and made several big plays on the ground when needed.

Texas will need Card to be more accurate on deep passes in order to escape Lubbock with a win on Saturday.
