Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger is off to a hot start.
His individual statistics have seemingly gone unnoticed. Texas hasn’t necessarily produced on the field the last few seasons, but Ehlinger wasn’t the problem.
Ehlinger has surpassed numerous school records set by former Longhorn legend Vince Young, now he’s closing in on Colt McCoy.
On Saturday in Lubbock, Ehlinger reached one of those milestones. He’s now the only Texas player over the last 25 seasons that has recorded a passing touchdown and rushing touchdown in 15 career games. McCoy reached 14 throughout his collegiate career.

Ehlinger recorded a rushing touchdown in the first quarter against Texas Tech. Shortly after, he connected with wide receiver Joshua Moore down field for a 31-yard touchdown reception.
He now accounted for 100 career touchdowns at Texas. As a Heisman contender with the majority of the 2020 college football season still left on the table, it’s likely not the last milestone that Ehlinger will reach.
