Texas picks up crystal ball predictions for three-star tight end

Texas is trying to lock a tight end for the 2021 class. 247Sports’ crystal ball has given the Longhorns two predictions for Gunnar Helm.

The Longhorns are back on the recruiting trail, this time, trying to lock down a tight end for the 2021 class. 247Sports’ crystal ball has given the Texas two predictions with a confidence level of seven for Gunnar Helm.

Helm is a three-star prospect on the 247Sports’ composite and is the sixth-ranked player in the state of Colorado. He is on the fringe of becoming a top 25 player at his position, sitting at No. 26.

Tight end became a position of need when another three-star prospect Landen King decommited from the Longhorns and landed with Auburn. Even Austin native Lake McRee chose an out-of-state school in USC.

Helm was in Austin recently, tweeting out he would arrive on July 20. It seems as if the trip was a successful one Tom Herman and Jay Boulware, with the crystal ball predictions flooding in two days later.

Two Big 10 schools, Iowa and Wisconsin, remain Texas’ biggest competition for the tight end.
