The USA TODAY Sports 2020 All-America team includes 14 players from the four teams competing in the College Football Playoff.
Although the roster is flooded with Alabama players, six Big 12 players made the cut. Iowa State linebacker Mike Rose joined teammate and running back Breece Hall on the first team, along with West Virginia defensive lineman Darius Stills on the defensive side.
Texas linebacker Joseph Ossai, Iowa State tight end Charlie Kolar, and TCU safety Trevon Moehrig represented the Big 12 on the second team.
Ossai was the lone Longhorn on both the ESPN All-America team and the USA TODAY Sports All-America team. He finished his collegiate career with his best season yet under new defensive coordinator Chris Ash and is widely projected to be selected within the first two rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-5, 243-pound playmaker led the Big 12 with 16 tackles for loss, including five sacks and three forced fumbles. Ossai’s most dominant performance this season appeared against No. 6 Oklahoma State, where he exploded with 12 total tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in Texas’ 41-34 upset victory.
