Texas managed to move up one spot in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll this week after narrowly defeating Houston, 31-24.
The Longhorns are now the No. 7 team in the country after Week 8 with a 6-1 overall record. Steve Sarkisian’s team is squarely in the mix to reach the Big 12 Championship game in December and potentially the College Football Playoff.
However, Texas faces an uphill battle if starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is sidelined for several weeks. Ewers suffered a shoulder sprain in his throwing shoulder against Houston in the second half.
Here’s a look at the full Coaches Poll after Week 8.
