Highly-touted 2022 linebacker Niuafe Tuihalamaka released his top five schools on Monday.

Highly-touted linebacker Niuafe Tuihalamaka released his top five schools on Monday afternoon.

The four-star prospect is listed as the No. 3 inside linebacker in the 2022 recruiting class and a top-70 overall player in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Tuihalamaka is California native out of Bishop Alemany High School and has compiled an impressive list of offers including Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, UCLA and Arkansas.

The final five programs left in his recruitment are Stanford, Oregon, Notre Dame, Arizona State and Texas.

Although he originally committed to the USC Trojans in Feb. 2020, Tuihalamaka later retracted his statement and re-opened his recruitment on Jan. 23, 2021. Tom Herman’s staff originally offered Tuihalamaka on Sept. 1 of last year, but Steve Sarkisian’s staff chose to re-offer him in February of 2021.

In 2019, the 6-foot-1, 238-pound athlete recorded a 5.06 time in the 40-yard dash. He’s an extremely physical player and effective blitzer that would fit well in Pete Kwiatkowski’s scheme.
