Texas Longhorns vs Kansas State: Bijan Robinson continues to sizzle

In the third quarter, the Longhorns extended their lead on the legs of Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson. 66-31.

After heading into halftime up 31-17, it didn’t take long for Texas to score once again. On the second play from scrimmage, Bijan Robinson took the ball 75-yards to the house. He showed great balance by staying up and showed the burst down the sideline to extend the lead to 38-17.

For the second time this year, Juwan Mitchell was ejected from the game for a targeting call. Jaylin Ford would come into the game to take the spot vacated by Mitchell. The Wildcats answered immediately with a touchdown of their own. Chris Brown whiffed on a tackle attempt that allowed Malik Knowles to score.

On the ensuing kickoff, D’Shawn Jamison decided to take it into his own hands. He would return the kick 98 yards. It appeared that Jamison scored but after the review, they put the ball at the one-yard line. Roschon Johnson punched it in on the next play.

The Wildcats answered right back with a 29-yard catch and run from Knowles. The back and forth third quarter continued with trading two scores apiece. The Longhorns would answer again using the ground game.

After another long run by Bijan mixed in with a catch and run, the Longhorns would use a little trickeration to score. Roschon would toss the ball to Jordan Whittington on the reverse to punch another score to go up 52-31 with 7:01 left in the quarter.

After forcing the Wildcats, the Longhorns would take over trying to eat the clock with the running game. Sam Ehlinger would find Jake Smith on a 33-yard catch and run to get a first down on third and four. On the next play Ehlinger would find Cade Brewer for a touchdown catch and run where he tightropes the sideline.

Following the David Gbenda interception of Will Howard, Ehlinger finds Malcolm Epps for yet another score. Longhorns end the third quarter up 66-31.
