DeMarvion Overshown, Linebacker
This year DeMarvion Overshown was moved from safety to the weakside linebacker spot. The team was already thin at the position and Overshown has the physical qualities needed to succeed in this defense.
Though four games he has struggled at the position. Mostly due to the missed tackles. He leads the team with 15 of the team’s 61 missed tackles. As a whole the linebacker group hasn’t been as consistent as expected this year.
Against the Horned Frogs and Sooners the Longhorns defense gave up 312 yards after contact. The defense and Overshown need to rally to the ball and bring the ball carrier down after first contact. Then they can limit some of these big plays they have been unable to stop.
