Number 57: Ricky Williams, RB (1995-1998)
The third-highest Longhorn on this list comes from San Diego. The Texas Longhorns all-time leading Rusher had one of the best college careers by a running back, in fact he still sits second behind Ron Dayne. In 1998, Williams broke the mark held by NFL Hall of Famer running back Tony Dorsett. Quite the company. Two of the top seven backs hail from the University of Texas, including the late great Cedric Benson.
Ricky Williams’ 1998 campaign was one of the 15 best seasons by a running back in NCAA history. He was highly sought after in the NFL Draft in 1999, so much so that New Orleans Saints head coach Mike Ditka gave up the entire draft just to get him.
