Texas Longhorns remain No. 1 in volatile US LBM Coaches Poll

The idle Texas Longhorns remain No. 1 in the US LBM Coaches Poll as highly-ranked teams around the country fell on Upset Saturday.

Upset Saturday‘ jumbled the new US LBM Coaches Poll, but the Texas Longhorns held firm in the top spot.

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Tennessee Volunteers each fell five sports after getting stunned Saturday. Alabama lost at Vanderbilt 40-35, while Tennessee fell at Arkansas 19-14.

The Missouri Tigers and Michigan Wolverines fell the hardest. Mizzou tumbled nine spots after getting manhandled by the Texas A&M Aggies. The Aggies jumped seven spots. Michigan, who lost at Washington 27-17, fell 11 spots. It was the Wolverines second loss of the season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes climbed back into the No. 2 spot after crushing Iowa in the Horseshoe. Indiana, Boise State, Illinois, Pitt and SMU all joined the poll.

The Longhorns will put their No. 1 ranking on the line Saturday in the Cotton Bowl against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry. Quinn Ewers is expected to return as starting quarterback.
