Texas Longhorns move up to No. 2 in newest US LBM Coaches Poll

Texas’ win over rival A&M coupled with Ohio State’s shocking loss to Michigan sees the Longhorns move up to No. 2 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

After holding off rival Texas A&M in College Station Saturday night, the Texas Longhorns will go to the SEC Championship Game for a rematch with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Now, Texas is moving up in the rankings. After Ohio State’s shocking home loss to rival Michigan, UT jumps to No. 2 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Oregon remains No. 1. The Buckeyes plummet to No. 8.

Penn State, who will play the Ducks in the Big Ten title game, moves up to No. 3. Notre Dame handled rival USC and jumps to fourth. After beating Georgia Tech in an 8OT rivalry classic, the Georgia Bulldogs move to No. 5. Tennessee is 6th.

In their first year in the ACC, SMU moves up to No. 7 and will play Clemson in the ACC title game. Indiana and Boise State round out the Top 10. There are seven SEC teams ranked in the Top 25, including Alabama, South Carolina, Ole Miss and Missouri.
