Texas Longhorns Football: Three concerns going into Texas Tech

Texas will travel to Lubbock on Saturday to begin Big 12 conference play. Here are three concerns going into the Texas Tech matchup:

Pass rush

A lot of things went right for the Longhorns against UTEP but one area that did not excel was the pass rush. An issue last season as well, Texas was only able to get to the quarterback one time via freshman Alfred Collins.

Moving into Big 12 play, offensive lines are going to get bigger and stronger compared to the Miners. Switching to a four-man front across the defensive line, JACK Joseph Ossai was expected to be the anchor for the pass rush.

Going into the Texas Tech game, getting to Alan Bowman will be a key factor in a Texas win. If the Red Raiders have a chance, giving Bowman time to find his wide receivers will be the downfall of the Longhorns’ defense. Winning on the line of scrimmage needs to become a regular occurrence for Texas.
